The mission of Urbancrest Disaster Relief is to assist believers in sharing the hope of Jesus Christ during disasters by providing training, support, and mutual service with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, emergency management and affiliated relief organizations. When disasters come, victims and their families often need help with food, water, clothing and temporary shelter. At Urbancrest, we believe God will provide these resources and that He calls us to prepare in advance for disasters. Difficult times can bring disaster survivors to a sense of uncertainty and hopelessness. the love of Jesus Christ can bring comfort to a hurting heart. This is, ultimately, the purpose of Urbancrest Disaster Relief. With the love of our Savior, we respond to the call and give a helping hand to those in need.

Our Facility

Urbancrest Baptist Church is a registered shelter facility for the American Red Cross. If requested by local authorities, our gymnasium will provide a refuge for victims in the days following a disaster. In the event of a large disaster, our church and grounds can accommodate emergency managers and responders during an emergency.

Our Equipment

Urbancrest operates a mobile food kitchen capable of preparing 500 meals per day. A mobile water purification unit supplies clean water when alternate sources are contaminated or unavailable. And because normal communications can be interrupted or lost during emergencies, we have access to a radio communications trailer suitable for use as a field incident command post.

Our People

In addition to Southern Baptist Trained volunteers, Urbancrest has a culture of serving. In many ways, the talents and gifts of our folks have blessed others in our community and around the world. If and when disaster comes to Lebanon, through God’s grace our people will be there to help and to share the love of Jesus Christ.
